Public Liability Certificate of Currency
We require all Uninsured Hirers to submit a copy of their current Public Liability Certificate of Currency as a crucial safety measure. This documentation ensures that hirers have valid liability insurance coverage during their event, providing protection against unforeseen incidents or accidents that may occur on the premises.
By submitting this certificate, hirers demonstrate their commitment to the safety and well-being of all attendees and visitors. It also grants peace of mind to both hirers and our community, knowing that necessary precautions are in place to address any unexpected situations.

Examples of Uninsured Hirers include:
-
Businesses, Incorporated bodies, and other organisations (including clubs)
-
Not-for-profit organisations
-
Sporting clubs
-
Associations (including non-profit organisations)
-
Hirers who charge the general public a fee for entry
-
Hirers that involve community activities (fetes, stalls, sausage sizzles, jumping castles etc.)

Situations where hirers don't need to provide a Public Liability Certificate of Currency
ECDA has Casual Hirers’ Liability Cover which provides a liability cover for Casual Hirers. Certain events may may fall into the Casual Hire category such as weddings, parties etc.

Exemption only applies to one-off events of a non-commercial nature, which are gatherings that are not intended for commercial purposes or generating revenue, and gatherings that are not reoccurring.
